A letter to an editor of a newspaper is a formal letter to the editor-in-chief of any newspaper by a citizen or a group or an organization or a company, wishing to address some pertinent issue. Most letters to the editor are written by citizens who want to comment on the type of articles being printed or who might be wanting to insist on a particular kind of articles to be published. Some writers can also be activists who want more stress to be laid by the newspaper on specific issues. Letters to the editor can also be letters of complaint and criticism. The writer may be finding the content of the newspaper bad or offensive and may, therefore, write a letter to the editor. At the same time, letters to the editor can also contain positive feedback and praise.

When applying for a job, it's always a good idea to include a cover letter , unless the employer specifies that they only want an application or a resume. Even if a job listing does not specifically request a cover letter, including one can be a terrific way to summarize your skills and experiences and explain in more detail than in a resume why you are an ideal candidate for the job. What's most important is writing a letter that shows the hiring manager what makes you one of the best candidates for the position. Reviewing cover letter samples is a great place to start before writing your own letter. You can then download a template to get started creating your own letter. Your cover letter should be well-written and provide some sense of your personality and professionalism. It should also be targeted to the position for which you are applying.
